However one thing has held sway since 1497, when Amerigo Vespuci (for whom America is named after) first anchored inside the Hatteras Bight – the health and beauty of this windswept landscape awash in blowing sand and ocean waves was breathe taking. The Outer Banks Expedition’s Naturalist Notebook, is all about nature. This is an educational resource, a platform for discussing and teaching on the natural world. We decided to start the notebook for a number of different reasons, but ultimately its all about environmental education and offering folks a deeper insight into the complexity and vibrant beauty of the natural world around us.
